Shiva Badruswamy Shiva graduated with an MBA from the Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University. He is currently pursuing a Certificate Course on Intellectual Property Law at New York University's School for Continuing and Professional Studies. He is a career entrepreneur and has successfully founded and developed a financial research outsourcing firm with 120+ analyst staff in India and the Philippines. In the valuations area, Shiva has valued and advised more than 150 companies financed mostly by venture firms and private equity. He has concluded engagements on term sheet negotiations, fund raising assistance and designing special incentive securities. Shiva has developed templates for value allocation, specific risk premium, lack of marketability computations, peer comparison, weighted valuation approaches, risk profile assessment and other tools that helps valuing data-deficient small, privately-held companies more accurate. Shiva is a member of the Institute of Business Appraisers, Plantation, Florida. Shiva's valuation philosophy have been reviewed and accepted by leading accounting firms including KPMG, Deloitte and Touche, BDO Seidman, PricewaterHouse Coopers and Ernst&Young. Shiva is an active promotor of animal welfare causes and is a Guardian member of the ASPCA. His other interests include alternative energy resources and climate change. Dr. Poongs Muthukumaran, Ph.D. Dr. Muthukumaran graduated with a doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University, Alabama, specializing in Nanotechnology and Supercritical Fluids. He has several publications and patents in the area of nanotechnology and advanced materials. He has chaired sessions at the annual meetings of The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). He worked in the drug delivery industry with a focus on nanoparticulate drug delivery systems for anti-cancer and water insoluble drugs. Poongs is currently focusing his efforts mostly on Intellectual Property activities and is directing Intellectual Property Management at an advanced Nano-Materials company in Massachusetts. Having been in firms that have gone through several rounds of financing, he has inside knowledge of issues and activities that nanotechnology companies face when commercializing technology. Poongs monitors the nano-industry closely and is extremely knowledgeable about the technologies of new entrants and the existing firms. He is currently pursuing his JD with a special focus on IPR laws.
Steven Lewis Steven Lewis graduated with a joint Business and Computer Science degree from Carnegie Mellon University. He has worked extensively as a Management Consultant for a Big Six accounting firm conducting strategic analysis for dozens of Fortune 50 companies and small startups alike, specializing in Technology and Telecommunications. Steven’s skills include operational due diligence, technology evaluation, and program management. His analysis has guided numerous strategic decisions on prospective investments in excess of $100M. Steven is currently leading a private equity funded telecommunications acquisition effort.
